Don’t want to cook your own Christmas dinner? These Vancouver restaurants will save the day!

Here are some tantalizing options for ordering a holiday meal to-go to enjoy in your own home this Christmas. 

Home for the holidays this year? For Christmas dinner in our second pandemic year, let one of the many Vancouver restaurants and caterers do the work. All you’ll need to do is heat and serve and enjoy. 

From traditional spreads with turkey and trimmings or prime rib spreads, to some global, modern, and unique takes on festive feasts, here are some tantalizing options for ordering a holiday meal to-go to enjoy in your own home this Christmas. 

Savoury City

Award-winning Vancouver caterer Savoury City Catering is taking the stress out of the holidays with a gourmet Turkey To-Go dinner package available for pick-up on Dc. 23 and 24. The most sophisticated take-home holiday package Savoury City has ever offered, the Turkey To-Go spread features a selection of chef-prepared holiday favourites. Enjoy a pre-carved slow-roasted and brined turkey, and sides including roasted garlic mashed potatoes, classic herb stuffing, green bean almondine and more, finished with a selection of seasonal sweet treats, squares and cookies. All items are packaged in oven-safe containers and come with simple heating instructions for effortless preparation and minimal clean-up. Designed to feed gatherings of up to six, Savoury City’s Turkey To-Go holiday dinners are priced at $275 and will be available to pick-up at the caterer’s East Vancouver headquarters (3925 Fraser St) on Dec. 23-24 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Traditional Québecois Tourtières are also available to order fresh or frozen for pick up from Dec. 20-24 to ensure you and your family are well-fed even on the busiest of days.

Provence Marinaside

Provence’s popular Turkey-To-Go is a traditional Christmas dinner for only $44 per person. Each individual dinner is pre-cooked and only requires re-heating to serve. The full meal includes: carved turkey meat; roasted vegetables; cranberry sauce; mashed potatoes; gravy; French baguette; French clafoutis for dessert. Turkey-To-Go orders must be placed in advance online between by Dec. 20.  Pick up at the restaurant only between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 24.

Juke Fried Chicken

Juke’s crowd-favourite Turducken Meal Kit makes a festive return with an exclusive limited run for the holidays. Each Turducken feast is gluten-free, easily feeds four and includes a full turducken — a three-in-one showstopper of a centrepiece featuring roasted turkey, duck and chicken. Each kit also includes an array of hearty and unique seasonal sides as well as detailed written and video instructions from Juke Chef and Co-Owner Bryan Satterford. A limited number of Juke’s Turducken Meal Kits are available for pickup from Wednesday, Dec. 22 and Thursday, Dec. 23 for $199 plus tax and can be ordered online. Customers are encouraged to order early as kits are expected to sell out. Meal kits may be prepared up to three days following pickup.

Blue Hat Bakery-Café at Pacific Institute of Culinary Arts 

Available now for pre-order via the PICA website, the Holiday Dinner To-Go packages are $109 plus tax and features a ready-made feast with enough food for two or more hungry adults to share courtesy of a choice of mouth-watering main dishes (Oven-Roasted Turkey Breast or Star Anise and Red Wine-Braised Short Rib) with all the trimmings in addition to gourmet sides and two desserts. Holiday Dinner To-Go pre-orders will be accepted until Friday, December 17 at 5:30 p.m. with specific pick-up times available Thursday, Dec. 23 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Friday, Dec. 24 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Pickups will be available at the northeast entrance at 1505 West 2nd Ave. just off Anderson St. Complimentary parking is available in the adjacent building on 2nd Ave.

Fanny Bay Oyster Bar & Shellfish Market

How about seafood for the holiday season? The Fanny Bay retail market is taking pre-orders for Christmas Eve pickups via its website and seafood lovers are strongly urged to order well in advance to avoid any holiday disappointment. The retail market will be open for pickups on Christmas Eve (Friday, Dec. 24) from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. but will be closed for Christmas Day (Saturday, Dec. 25). This is the spot to get live shellfish selection that includes oysters, mussels, clams, geoduck, crab and lobster and a wide array of smoked, cured and frozen seafood as well as specialty curated boxes and kits to help hosts build the perfect festive seafood feast.

Nuba’s Festive Sides Package is back for 2021. A unique offering that takes care of all the sides, leaving you to take centre stage as the holiday hero while you focus on your main of choice, sans distractions. All four Nuba locations will be offering the package for $79, which includes: onion walnut bread, zhatar Brussels sprouts, pomegranate-braised carrots, mashed parsnip, pear and feta arugula salad and roasted sweet potatoes with yam and pumpkin. The package feeds four and will be available to order on the Nuba website.  Orders open until Wednesday, Dec. 22. Packages will be delivered to customers’ homes on Friday, Dec. 24.

Le Tigre

Popular food truck Le Tigre is offering holiday sets of fan favourite dishes and all-new plates available for pick up Dec. 21-25. Designed to share the flavour-packed and interactive menu makes for a pleasant change from traditional holiday dining. All items in the multi-course family-style sets are fully cooked, customers must simply heat and serve.  Chef Jace Yun takes the lead on this menu and spotlights Korean flavours and ingredients alongside plenty of surprises. The small set is $110 and feeds two and include one salad, two appetizers, one main, and one dessert. The Large Set is $250 and feeds five and includes two salads, five appetizers, two mains, and two desserts. The holiday sets are available for takeout December 21-25. Pickup will be available 3:30pm-7:00pm at the truck’s brick-and-mortar sister restaurant, Torafuku located at 958 Main Street. Orders can be placed online here.

H Tasting Lounge

H Tasting Lounge at the Westin Bayshore is cooking up a majestic holiday turkey spread that is sure to put a smile on the faces of all your guests. Impress a party of 6 to 8 with an extravagant turkey feast: a 5kg slow-roasted Rossdown Farms free-range turkey; Bayshore honey-glazed root vegetables; roasted garlic and parmesan Brussels sprouts; buttermilk and chive mashed potatoes; cranberry and peach stuffing; sage pan gravy and spiced cranberry relish; winter greens salad; and a decadent Chocolate Yule Log. Pre-order is available online until Dec. 20 (noon). Pick-up is available Dec. 24-25 from 2-6 p.m.

Railtown is once again offering its wildly popular Holiday Turkey To-Go Package! Each package is fully cooked, and ready to heat-and-serve at home. The menu features a sage-roasted turkey accompanied by all the traditional festive fixings – including maple-glazed sweet potatoes, Brussels sprouts with toasted almonds, and dried apricot chestnut stuffing – plus homemade pecan pie for dessert. Available in half-size (5-6 guests) or full-size (8-10 guests) options. Deadline to order is Friday Dec. 17 at 10 a.m. 

Edge Catering

This Vancouver catering biz has several options for taking the hard work out of getting a feast onto your holiday table. Their slow-roasted turkey package comes with port gravy; sourdough, apple and cranberry stuffing; Yukon Gold buttermilk mashed potatoes; locally-grown maple squash with ancient grains, cranberry, wilted kale; and winter vegetables with thyme butter.  Dessert options include cranberry apple walnut galette or Edge’s signature sticky toffee pudding w/ toffee sauce. A festive alternative to turkey is Braised Beef Short Rib with port jus, Yorkshire puddings, and heaps more sides. Globe@YVR Restaurant at Fairmont Vancouver Airport

The culinary team here has three Christmas dinner options available for to-go this holiday season. Offering both a full Turkey Dinner To-Go (for 8-10 people) at $399 and a Holiday Ham Dinner To-Go (for 8-10 people) at $429, for those looking to host large family gatherings. In addition, the culinary team is offering a Christmas Dinner for Two To-Go at $99 the perfect option for couples or those that are unable to travel home for the holidays. Orders must be made by Dec. 21 at 5 p.m. with pick-up available from noon to 4 p.m. on Dec. 24 and 25. 

JRG restaurants

The JRG family of restaurants in Metro Vancouver and the Fraser Valley have Christmas feasts available for pre-order. Pre-order a dinner for 6 or dinner for 2 available for pickup at all JRG locations through the entire month of December with 72 hours notice. Or place an order for pickup on Christmas Day from a limited number of select locations. There are tons of add-on options for extra sides or dessert, and you can even order up a waffle brunch kit for an easier morning meal.
