The presents have been opened, the pine needles have fallen and it’s now time to clean up after Christmas.
But how do you throw away all this stuff in the best way? The City of Burnaby has you covered.
To toss your tree, you can put it out for curbside collection between Jan. 8 and 26, 2024.
All you have to do is leave the tree out by your usual pickup area anytime during those dates, and the city will pick it up as soon as possible.
If you receive weekly city collection services, you’re eligible for the curbside pickup service, according to the city’s website.
Remember: the tree must be free of all ornaments, tinsel and lights and only natural trees can be recycled – no artificial trees or those covered in snow foam.
And don’t fret if you missed the curbside collection, as you can drop off your tree for free at the Burnaby Eco-Centre. Just remember to bring proof of residency in Burnaby.
The Eco-Centre is located at 4855 Still Creek Dr. and is open Monday to Sunday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
It will be closed New Year’s Day (Jan. 1).
