Has your child considered trick-or-treating dressed as a firefighter? A scuba diver? Mary Poppins? or Gene Kelly?
You may want to ensure your family’s costumes can handle the rain forecast for Metro Vancouver on Halloween.
1130 NewsRadio Meteorologist Michael Kuss says the wet weather will begin early, with five to 10 millimetres falling per hour.
“It does look like that heaviest band of rain is going to slide to the south for the evening. But between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. — the key hours — we still will likely have at least some precipitation around the area,” said Kuss.
He also forecasts winds as fast as 30 to 50 kilometres per hour Friday.
Kuss says conditions will be wet and windy, but at least not overly cold.
“Temperatures, even through the evening, will still be between nine and 11 degrees,” said Kuss.
He reminds trick-or-treaters that the sun will set just before 6 p.m.
