Drivers around Metro Vancouver may get a break at the gas pump Thursday morning.
The price of regular has dropped four cents at many stations in Metro Vancouver, with costs as low as $1.54 per litre spotted in Vancouver.
Analysts at Gasbuddy.com say last week, the national average crept up, mainly because of refinery issues in the U.S.
“The outages pushed prices higher across much of the West. With those refinery issues beginning to ease, we may see some limited relief ahead,” said Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy Monday.
At the start of the week, Gasbuddy noted prices in Vancouver had dropped by 6.9 cents per litre compared to the same day last year.
De Haan says, “Barring major hurricane disruptions or shifts in the geopolitical landscape, gas price fluctuations across Canada may remain modest heading into fall.”
