A super popular lululemon half-marathon is making a comeback after a three-year hiatus.
The SeaWheeze Half Marathon, which ended in 2022, will return next year. Race weekend will be Aug. 6 to Aug. 8 in 2026, and registration will open in January 2026.
“SeaWheeze is more than a run — it’s a celebration of community and culture,” organizers told Daily Hive.
“Expect high-energy events, limited-edition SeaWheeze gear, and unforgettable moments all weekend long.”
The distance for the lululemon marathon event is 21.1 km. The event brings in runners from around the world. Organizers are also hinting at some surprise performances.
Before the 2022 stoppage, the last in-person SeaWheeze event took place in 2019. Instead, lululemon organized virtual events in 2020 and 2021. 2022 would’ve marked the race’s 11th year, but that’s the same year we learned marathon organizers were pulling the plug.
“After 10 wonderful years, the SeaWheeze half-marathon has run its course. But if there’s one thing we know, it’s that when the sun sets on a finish line, it rises to a new start line,” the company said on what was at the time Twitter.
“Stay tuned—and trained—for what’s next in lululemon running,” it added.
We hadn’t heard much else about SeaWheeze until now.
“SeaWheeze has always been such a huge part of Vancouver’s running culture, and to see it come back honestly feels incredible,” Rob Watson, lululemon Ambassador and Pro Runner, told Daily Hive in a statement.
“This race brings so much energy and community to the city – you really can’t replicate it. I can’t wait for everyone to lace up and experience that magic again,” Watson added.
