It might be time to pull out the sunscreen and slide on some sunglasses, as spring-like weather is working its way into the Lower Mainland this week.
The region will see a big thaw, according to CityNews meteorologist Carl Lam.
Lam explains a “big bubble” of high pressure is settling over the top of the Lower Mainland. While on Wednesday the region will see highs near 10°C, the warm-up really begins on Friday, he adds. “By Friday we’re talking about temperatures into the low to mid teens across all of Metro Vancouver.”
“As we head toward the weekend we’re talking about the mid to upper teens for daytime high temperatures for both Saturday and Sunday,” he said.
“It means we’re going to stay dry. It is going to be bright and it is going to be very comfortable. Even a little hot for some across Metro Vancouver especially for this time of year.
“On Sunday, some areas away from the water, as you head over towards Abbotsford, Chilliwack — you could even hit 20°C.”
