It’s time to bring out your competitive side, because a unique interactive gaming experience will soon open its second Metro Vancouver location.
Activate, the world’s first active gaming facility, has announced that it is coming to the Willowbrook Shopping Centre in Langley this winter.
The entertainment destination allows guests to combine fitness and competition with a variety of immersive challenges.
It will be Activate’s second B.C. spot following its opening in Coquitlam earlier this year.
“The response in Coquitlam has been outstanding, and Langley was the clear choice for our next B.C. location,” said Adam Schmidt, co-founder and CEO of Activate.
“This community is ready for something they’ve never experienced before. We’re excited to bring a completely new way to play to Langley.”
Activate’s facility is divided into a number of rooms, each with unique concepts and levels for any type of experience or fitness level.
You can choose to play as a team or against each other, and RFID wristbands let you track your scores depending on how quickly you complete a challenge.
The 10,007-square-foot Langley location will feature 13 high-tech game rooms that Activate said are designed to react in real time to keep players on their toes.
Mega Grid features over 500 touch-sensitive LED floor tiles and light-up wall buttons, which will require you to show off your speed, coordination and communication skills.
Strike has your team blast off into space to try and stop asteroids from hitting you.
And to become a super-spy, head into the Laser room and try to make it through the glowing maze unscathed.
Your electronic wristband tracks your progress so that you can level up and earn prizes and rewards across multiple visits to the gaming facility.
Winnipeg-based Activate has grown to nearly 60 locations across Canada, the United States, Dubai, France, and the United Kingdom. The company also plans to open several new European locations, including in Germany, Norway, and Denmark.
Activate has not yet announced an official opening date for its Willowbrook Shopping Centre location, but we will update this story with the information when it is released.
