Metro Vancouver filming locations: TV show to shoot in popular park

‘Fire Country’ is filmed in several locations across the Lower Mainland.

You could stumble upon a fiery film set at a popular park this week.

Fire Country is a TV series about a young ex-convict who seeks redemption by joining an “unconventional prison release firefighting program in Northern California, where he and other inmates are partnered with elite firefighters to extinguish massive, unpredictable wildfires,” according to Imdb.com.

FC Productions will film scenes for a second time this week in Burnaby’s Central Park on Thursday (Jan. 29). The crew was also filming scenes in the area on Monday.

The film crew will arrive at 5 a.m. and prepare the set until 8 a.m., when filming is scheduled to start. The shoot will run until noon, involving scenes on the trail at the south end of the Boundary parking lot. During this time, select trails will be closed, and pedestrians may be asked to hold momentarily or detour, according to a resident notification letter.

Essential vehicles will be stored in the Boundary and Patterson lots.

Most of the crew is scheduled to pack up and leave the area by 1 p.m., although some people may stay behind and restore the area for post-filming clean-up and area restoration until 7 p.m.

The popular show is filmed in several locations across the Lower Mainland, and Cloverdale Business Improvement Association executive director Paul Orazietti has shared several images and videos from shoots in Surrey.

Filming for the fourth season commenced in January and will continue through March 2026. The show has been renewed for a fifth season by CBS.
