London Drugs is slowly reopening its Western Canada locations after a cyberattack tied up much of its operations for almost a week.
In a release Monday, the company announced it has reopened 40 stores across the country, and hopes to have all 79 locations open by the end of day on Tuesday, May 7.
According to the retailer, 17 locations are now back to normal operations in Metro Vancouver and the Fraser Valley, along with eight across the rest of B.C.
The company says at this point there is no evidence that any customer databases have been compromised, including pharmacy patients.
As stores are reopening to “core services,” the release stated that some services remain unavailable.
Citing connectivity issues, the company said the pharmacy will “not be able to fill new prescriptions at this time,” but claimed it’s working to have the issue solved as soon as possible.
All optical locations are expected to be operational by the end of Monday, May 6.
London Drugs closed every location across B.C., Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba on April 28 in response to the reported cybersecurity incident.
London Drugs locations began slowly coming back online Thursday when phone lines became operational again. They had been taken offline “as a necessary part of its internal investigation.”
