Driver fatally strikes pedestrian near Langley-U.S. border

The Langley RCMP is investigating after a driver struck a pedestrian dead along the U.S. border in Aldergrove Tuesday morning.

Officers responded to reports of the collision near 264 Street and 0 Avenue around 6:45 a.m.

First responders, including the Township of Langley Fire Department and paramedics, discovered an injured pedestrian.

“Despite immediate life saving measures, the individual succumbed to their injuries at the scene,” said Sgt. Zynal Sharoom.

Police did not disclose whether the driver involved remained on scene.

264 Street remains closed as investigators work. Drivers are advised to avoid the nearby border crossing and can expect delays in the area.
