A section of Brooke Road has been shut down Wednesday morning as police investigate a shooting at a home in North Delta.
The Delta Police Department says officers responded to reports of shots fired around 5:10 a.m.
“The residence was occupied at the time; fortunately, no one was injured,” said police.
The department’s Major Crime Section says the incident is believed to be connected to an ongoing extortion investigation.
Images from the scene show that officers have blocked the road between 84 Avenue and Nordel Way.
Investigators have also set up a white tent behind police barricades near 86a Avenue.
