Although nights may get longer in the fall, that just means there’s more time to enjoy some stunning outdoor lights in Metro Vancouver.
The City of Surrey will host the 13th annual Bear Creek Lights from Friday, Nov. 7 to Friday, Nov. 21 at one of its most popular green spaces.
This year’s light festival will be a magical wonderland for all ages, with free tickets available online. And there’s lots to discover this year.

Bear Creek Lights
Bring your friends and family to check out the new 1 km walking path at Bear Creek Park, decorated with stunning light displays, a lighted tunnel, and accompanied by music.
“Bear Creek Lights is a wonderful way for friends and families to get outdoors and connect with nature as the days get shorter,” said Mayor Brenda Locke.
“Seeing the gardens at Bear Creek Park lit up with thousands of twinkling lights is always magical. I invite everyone to experience this beloved and uplifting community tradition that sparks joy for all ages.”
Guests are encouraged to pre-book their free light festival tickets online. Walk-up guests may be admitted if space is available after pre-registered tickets are sold out.
The dazzling lights are crafted to enhance the natural landscape at the Surrey park. The illuminated path is designed to be safe and accessible and can be walked at your own pace.
Those seeking further nature adventure are invited to sign up for a guided Nature at Night Walk. Participants will discover raccoons, owls, and more, plus learn how these nighttime animals survive in the dark. Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
There will also be family-friendly programming on select nights, including those presented by BC Hydro, Surrey Police Service, Surrey Fire Service, and Surrey Animal Resource Centre.
For those working up an appetite from their stroll, food trucks will be at the event each night, serving a variety of treats and warm beverages.
